DC Circuit to Live Stream Arguments

D.C. Circuit Court of Appeal chief judge Merrick Garland approved a plan to live stream oral argument at the request of an individual in the case, the court announced Tuesday.

The court joins the San Francisco-based 9th Circuit and other circuits in allowing live broadcast of appeals cases.

The D.C. Circuit did make an exception to the broadcast policy if there is a case-specific confidentiality concern.

The court has been providing delayed release of audio recorded oral arguments since September 2013. The court will continue to post audio recordings of arguments by 2pm on the day of the arguments.
